Classic apple pie with a smooth pastry cream layer

  • Shortcrust pastry

  • Pastry cream

  • 2/3 large apples, thinly sliced

  • Brown sugar to caramelize the top

      Pre-bake the shortcrust pastry for 10-20 minutes at 180°C (350°F)

      Spread the pastry cream over the pre-baked crust

      Layer the thinly sliced apples on top of the cream
